During her last year studying fashion design and management, Nadine El Nesr is set to present her collection “The Day is a Dream the Night is Real” at the Cornell Fashion Collective’s annual runway show. Finding the intersection between luxury and streetwear is at the core of the all-black Avante-Garde collection. El Nesr figuratively and literally experiments with the intricacies of shadows, perceptions, and alter egos–a story that manifests itself through animal sculptures on the garments.
Considering one of her greatest accomplishments is creating pieces that are talked about beyond their time on the runway, her innovative creations are sure to bring the drama once again. Evidently, CFC’s platform is the place to make a statement, a sentiment that encouraged her to start her own jewelry line (@jewelry.by.nadine). After completing this grand collection, El Nesr is the perfect example of the fact that “no project is too big to execute”: the piece of advice that she would give young FSAD designers to stress the importance of refining your craft.
